Florida: A 71-year-old woman from Florida tried to kill her husband after he received a postcard from a woman whom he dated 60 years ago. The woman, Bertha Yalter, was arrested after her husband made a call to the police, complaining that she had tried to kill him.
Police said that when they arrived at the scene they found Bertha’s husband in extremely fragile state and with “Several serious bruises and open lacerations…as well as open bite marks that were bleeding”. Bertha has been married to her husband for 52 years and the postcard that he received was from a woman whom he dated way before he married her.

However getting the postcard from the woman greatly entered Bertha who then tried to kill her husband by smothering him with a pillow. Reports said that some of the attack was captured on a cellular phone. Also, if reports are to believed, Bertha also confessed to attacking her husband and admitted that she had also denied him of his cell phone at some point.
“The police overcharged this case in the extreme. Our client’s husband said he is perfectly fine. That he regrets the argument. And that he regrets what happened,” Bertha’s attorney said in court. The state’s attorney said that Bertha had also admitted to urinating on her husband.
