Bengaluru: Renowned sculptor from Karnataka Arun Yogiraj on Saturday took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a picture of a silver hammer and gold chisel which was used to carve the divine eyes of Lord Ram installed in Ayodhya. The Ram Temple was inaugurated by PM Modi in a grand event in Ayodhya on January 22.
The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had commissioned three sculptors to carve the statue of Lord Ram, the trust finalised the statue sculpted by Mysuru-based Arun Yogiraj.
Revealing more details of the statue, Arun Yogiraj said that he sculpted the eyes of Lord Ram’s idol with a silver hammer and gold chisel.

Revealing more details about the plan before he started sculpting the statue, Arun Yogiraj had earlier said that he thought for two months only about the face of Lord Ram before the work began.
According to the sculptor, the carving out work of eyes began at an auspicious time. Arun Yogiraj said that every day he used to take a bath in the Sarayu River and perform pooja at Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya before starting to sculpt Lord Ram statue.
The Ram Lalla idol is 51-inch tall. It portrays the 5-year-old child form of Lord Ram standing on a lotus. PM Modi performed pran pratishta on January 22 in a grand event attended by several bigwigs.
