Bengaluru: Group of men on bikes harass women in car, 2 arrested

Bengaluru: A group of men riding bikes allegedly harassed two woman driving a car on the Madiwala-Koramangala road on Sunday night, the city police said. Two of the bikers were arrested and others managed to flee, the police added. Three of the accused men were identified as Tejas, Jagannath and Kannan. The police said that Tejas and Jagannath were arrested, while Kannan managed to flee.

A police official said that the victim raised the complaint on a phone call and narrated her harrowing experience. The woman shared a video of the incident and also gave the vehicle number of the miscreants. The police tracked down the arrested men with the help of the vehicle number. The video of the incident, which has now gone viral, shows the woman crying for help over phone to the police after sharing her live location.

The incident

On March 31, the two women who work for in a corporate firm were travelling in a car. While driving, they switched on the indicator of their car but turned the vehicle in another direction. Around four to five men on three bikes started a conflict with the women over this. The verbal argument escalated and one of the accused attempted to forcefully open the car door. The women started to panic and called for help.

They tried to drive faster and get distant from the men. The accused chased the women and threatened them. The victims them dialled 112 and shared their ordeal with the police. They also shared their live location. When the police reached the spot, some of the bikers fled the scene. Three of the accused were arrested by the Madiwala Police. A complaint has been filed at the Koramangala Police Station and a probe is on in the matter.
