Big blow to SBI customers! Bank to hike annual charges on these debit cards from April 1 2024

New Delhi: State Bank of India (SBI) customers will have to pay more for annual maintenance charges of debit cards, according to its official website. SBI has hiked the annual charges for card categories including Classic, Silver, Global and Contactless. The country’s largest bank has hiked maintenance charges by Rs 75 across debit card categories. An additional GST will be charged on the revised fee amount.

State Bank of India has also introduced a Rs 25+ GST fee on enquiry made at ATMs for international transaction charges.
The bank will also charge a minimum of Rs 100 for ATM cash withdrawal. The charges can go up to 3.5 per cent of the transaction.
Customers will have to pay Rs 50 + GST for duplicate pin
Point of sale or e-commerce transactions will be charged 3 per cent of the transaction amount + GST
The goods and services tax rate for all of the above transactions and services is 18 per cent.

SBI credit card changes

The country’s largest lender has also revised the criteria for reward points accrual on credit cards effective April 1, 2024.
Certain SBI credit card users will not be able to earn reward points for rent payments made on or after April 1, 2024.
Points earned for previous rent payments made using SBI credit cards will also expire on April 15. 2024.
