‘Chal na mazaa karte hain, let’s boo…’: Harsha Bhogle slams netizens for trolling Hardik Pandya

New Delhi: Ace commentator came out in support of beleaguered Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya on Tuesday after fans on social media brutally trolled the India all-rounder following the defeat against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Hardik has faced severe criticism from fans after his much-talked-about move from Gujarat Titans to his former employers ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

While GT fans have called out Hardik for betraying the franchise. Under Hardik’s leadership, Titans won one title and reached the final of the 2023 edition but in a bombshell move, he returned to his former franchise MI, replacing Rohit Sharma as the team’s new captain.

The loyal MI fanbase didn’t like the move. Hardik was then trolled by Mumbai fans, who vented their frustration on the owners and Pandya on the leadership change.

Losing three back-to-back matches also didn’t help Hardik’s cause. The scenario would have been completely different had Mumbai got off the mark in IPL 2024.

Amidst the incessant trolling, Hardik has found support from former cricketers. Ace commentator Harsha Bhogle is the latest to join that list. On a Cricbuzz show, Bhogle slammed the netizens for targeting Pandya, who he believes was given the leadership duty at MI on merit.

Bhoghle compared Hardik’s move to a job change in the corporate world where an employee gets a better job opportunity at another company after performing well in his existing organisation.

Bhogle also lamented the fact that most social media users only follow the trend and post without thinking.

MI and Pandya need a win desperately

After three defeats in as many matches, MI will be desperate to get off the mark this season. The five-time champions will take the field on Sunday against Delhi Capitals. MI would hope the long break helps them identify the issues that need addressing on an immediate basis.
