Delhi: India bloc gets permission to oragnise protest against Kejriwal’s arrest, traffic advisory issued!

Delhi:The Delhi police has issued a traffic advisory along with a parking plan for Sunday. The advisory has been issued after the the INDIA bloc obtained approval from both the Election Commission (EC) and the police department to organise a rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on March 31. The political rally is scheduled as a protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Followed by the permission, the Delhi traffic police on March 29 issued an advisory along with parking a plan on its official X (formerly twitter) handle.

Traffic Advisory

Root diversions, restrictions and parking plans

As per the advisory issued by the law enforcement department, the political rally will take place at Delhi’s Ram Leela maidan on March 31 between 10 am to 3 pm. It should be noted that the police department has mentioned that the Movement of General Traffic between 8 am and 4 pm will be regulated and can be restricted tomorrow on the following roads and Junction:

• Ranjeet Singh Flyover from Bara Khambha Road to Guru Nanak Chowk.
• Vivekanand Marg from Minto Road to R/A Kamla Market, Hamdard Chowk.
• JLN Marg from Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk and Ajmeri Gate.
• R/ A Kamla Market to Guru Nanak Chowk.
• Chaman Lal Marg near VIP Gate, Guru Nanak Chowk to Turkman Gate.

Traffic diversion may be imposed on the following roads:

• Rajghat Chowk
• Minto Road, DDU Marg
• Mirdard Chowk
• Paharganj Chowk
• A-Point
• Delhi Gate

Parking plans during the rally:

• Organiser Alighting Point in Ramlila Ground Entry from Chaman Lal Marg & Gate No. 08
Hamdard Chowk for Organizer 0(Limited Vehicle 15-20 Cars). No buses will be allowed on JLN Marg.
• Parking at Raj Ghat, Power House road, Shantivan Service Road, Parking of Shantivan for buses and cars.
• Parking at Velodrome Road, Raj Ghat service lane & Salimgarh Bypass for buses.

Cooperation, patience requested!

“Commuters are requested to cooperate by avoiding or bypassing the above-mentioned roads, if possible, and by making maximum use of public transport, especially Metro services. Further, the general public is advised to keep sufficient time at hand while planning road journeys via the above-mentioned roads and junctions. People who are ging towards ISBT, Railway Station, or Airport are advised to carefully plan their travel with sufficient time at hand. We appreciate your understanding and your cooperation towards the alleviation of traffic congestion during the above-mentioned period,” reads the police advisory.

“The general public and motorists are advised to keep patience, observe traffic rules and road discipline, follow the directions of traffic personnel deployed at all intersections,” the announcement further added.

Several political biggies to attend the event

Meanwhile, leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Trichy Shiva, Derek O’Brian, Tejaswi Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Sitaram Yechury, D Raja, Farooq Abdullah, Dipankar Bhattarcharya, Champai Soren, G Devaraja, Kalpana Soren and Bhagwant Maan are expected to participate in the protests.

“AAP has received nod from the concerned authorities for holding rally for an attendance of more than 20,000 people,” said Delhi minister Gopal Rai.
