New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Sunday said that they have apprehended 5 juveniles in connection with the stabbing of a 17-year-old boy. The incident took place in the city’s Patel Nagar area, said officials.
Boy was returning from tuition: Police
According to the police the teenager was coming back home from his tuition classes on Friday night, when he was stabbed. The police received a call at around 9:45 pm and the team rushed to the spot.
It was the police team which took the bleeding child to a nearby hospital for treatment. In his statement to the police, the injured teen said that when he was returning home after attending his tuition classes 7-8 boys surrounded him. They thrashed him and then stabbed him.
The police have so far managed to detain 5 minors for the crime.
Stabbing after argument: Police
The police said that the minors detained by them told police personnel that they had an argument with the victim a few days ago. In order to take revenge, they surrounded him when he was alone and stabbed him.
The police have recovered the knife used in the crime. They have registered a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and Section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The police are now searching for the other boys involved in the crime.
Recent stabbing case involving minors
The stabbing of a minor in Delhi comes close on the heels of a similar case reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Jehangirabad. This small town in Madhya Pradesh saw a stabbing case which happened over a trivial issue.
In this case, 2 boys who were brothers were stabbed by their friends. The argument started over one of the boys refusing to refer to his friends as “boss”. Angered over the refusal, the boys stabbed him and later fled the spot.
The main accused in this case was a Class 11 student. A case was filed by the local police and investigations are going on. The accused have not been arrested so far in this case.
