Gurgaon: The authorities in Gurgaon took two people into custody from two different locations for allegedly running illegal hospital and clinic, the police said on Saturday. It added that a joint team of the CM Flying Squad and the Health department raided SD Hospital in Ambedkar Colony and Mukhtar Health Centre and Mother-Child Centre in Chakkarpur village. During the raid, officials found that fake doctors were running these places.
Police have sealed all facilities belonging to the accused
While the facilities have been sealed, officials also seized several modern medicines from the spots. The action was taken following a tip-off. Talking about the incident, one of the officials said that the accused were playing with the lives of the people by providing them with allopathic medicines and injections.
Officials first raided the SD hospital. After reaching there, they found a man sitting on a chair, who was later identified as Manoj Kumar. The person who allegedly identified himself as a doctor, is a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. When officials asked him to produce his credentials, the man was unable to show any certificate, nor did he provide any registration certificate. The police took him into custody and also seized injections and medicines from the spot.
The same team later raided Mukhtar Health Centre and Mother-Child Centre in Chakkarpur village. This clinic was run by two imposters namely Mohammad Masoom and Dr Mohammad Hasim. Even as Mohammad Masoom was arrested from the spot, his accomplice continues to remain at large. News agency PTI reported.
The police had earlier filed the case after Dr Gaurav Gupta, a Medical Officer, filed a complaint. Two separate FIRs were registered under section 336 (punishment for an act endangering the life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)as well as Section 34 of the National Medical Commission Act, the police added.
