Heatwave alert in Telangana, temperatures to stay high over next four days

The India Meteorological Department on Wednesday said that maximum temperature is likely to go up by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next four days at some places in Telangana and dry weather will likely prevail over many places.

As per Telangana State Development Planning Society data, Narsapur in Nirmal district recorded 43.5 degrees Celsius followed by Jagtial, Nalgonda, Khammam recording 43.4 degrees Celsius. Temperatures exceeded 40 degrees in other parts of the state.

Light rains from April 7:

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at some places from April 7 and thunderstorms accompanied with lightning is very likely to occur in Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtiyal, Rajanna Siricilla, Peddapally, Kamareddy districts.

Precautions for heatwave:

Meanwhile, officials of the Medical and Health Department said that people should not come out between 1 pm to 4 pm unless it is an emergency while young children and old people are cautioned to be safe. Precautions like taking an umbrella, goggles, wearing cotton clothes along with energy drinks while going out may help in combating the heatwave.
