Hot, humid weather likely in many parts of Andhra Pradesh, temps to go up by 2-4 degrees: IMD

Hot, humid and discomfort weather is likely to be seen over the next 4 days in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh regions like Alluri Seetharama Raju, Anakapalli, East Godavari, Eluru, Kakinada, Konaseema, West Godavari, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Yanam, and South Coastal AP regions like Bapatla, Guntur, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore, Tirupati, while heatwave like conditions can be seen in Rayalaseema region. Maximum Temperature is likely to be 2-4 degrees higher than normal, India Meteorological Department said.

Speaking to Tv9 Telugu, Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Centre Director, Sunanda said, “Temperatures are gradually increasing in the state and 2-3 degrees above normal are recorded in the coast. Temperatures range from 40 to 42 in Parvathipuram Manyam and Rayalaseema. The intensity of heat is high in the coastal districts adjacent to Rayalaseema. We have already said that due to the effect of El Nino, the temperatures will rise this year till April and May. In some areas it will be recorded up to 5 degrees above normal.”

Lower tropospheric south-easterly, south-westerly winds prevail over AP and Yanam, IMD stated.
