Goa: The India Energy Week 2024 witnessed the unveiling of the Made in India HH 150 Automated Hydraulic Workover Rig by Megha Engineering and Infrastructure (MEIL) unit Drillmec in Betul Goa. The rig adheres to international standards and made up of 55 per cent Made in India content, said Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
In a post on social media platform X, Puri said: “Delighted to see the latest generation automatic rig with high safety standards (Drillmec SpA Italy technology) developed with 55% Make in India content by MEIL. 20 of these automated rigs are being given to @ONGC_ to power India’s energy journey! (sic)”
National oil discovery company ONGC will deploy 20 of these oil rigs to power India’s energy security.
MEIL is “committed to further building domestic manufacturing capacity, and supplying world-class equipment, to accelerate India’s domestic oil and gas exploration- all aligned to the nation’s larger goal of achieving an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and energy security,” said MEIL MD P V Krishna Reddy.
