New Delhi: Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant was fined for the second time for over rate offence on Thursday. He was fined Rs 24 lakh of his match fee after being guilty of maintaining a slow-over in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

His teammates were docked 25 per cent of their match fees as Delhi crashed to a 106-run loss to KKR for their third loss in four matches.

“Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders…” the IPL said in a statement.

“As it was his team’s second offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Pant was fined INR 24 lakhs.

“The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 lakhs or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser,” it added.

KKR won the toss and opted to bat, smashing 272 for seven, the second biggest total in the tournament’s history. In reply, DC were bowled out for 166 in 17.2 overs.

Pant was earlier fined RS 12 lakh after being charged with the same offence in their 20-run loss to Chennai Super Kings last Sunday.
