New Delhi: Former Australia pacer Brett Lee wants Lucknow Super Giants pace sensation Mayank Yadav to bowl even quicker than he has done so far.

Yadav clocked 155.8 kph in LSG’s 21-run win over Punjab Kings last Saturday and improved to 156.7 kph in their 28-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Tuesday.

In both those matches, Yadav picked up three wickets each to be named the man of the match. It helped LSG climb up to fourth spot in the standings with two wins in three matches.

Lee hailed the arrival of Yadav and his ability to generate raw pace that has teoubled established batters in the tournament. He claimed the wickets of Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green on Tuesday that crippled RCB in their chase of 182 runs.

“I am super impressed with what I have seen so far. He has got great pace, nice action, and got three wickets the other night. So, I’m really excited to see how he progresses in next few months,” Lee told JioCinema.

‘Talk of the town’

“Mayank Yadav is the talk of the town. He has crossed 155 the other night, and I would love to see him bowl even quicker.”

In LSG’s two victories, Yadav has caught the attention with his ability to bowl 150kph thunderbolts consistently.

On his IPL debut on Saturday, his extra pace rattled Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma and paved way for LSG’s win over Punjab Kings.

He repeated that feat on Tuesday, derailing RCB in their 182-run chase as LSG picked up their second successive win after loss in their opening match.

The KL-Rahul captained LSG jumped up to fourth in the standings. They host Gujarat Titans in Lucknow in their next game on April 7.
