IPL 2024: Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant celebrate Holi with teammates – WATCH

New Delhi: As India celebrate Holi, the festival of colors, some of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises couldn’t resist playing along as players put on colors on each other to enjoy the festival to its fullest. The festival of Holi is celebrated with powdered colors and water thrown on one another and similar was seen in the camps of Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday.

The Capitals reached Jaipur for their next match against hosts Rajasthan Royals (March 28) and grabbed the opportunity to celebrate the colorful festival. All Indian and overseas players took part as the likes of David Warner, Anrich Nortje, and Mitchell Marsh were all seen alongside skipper Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, and Ishant Sharma. Even head coach Ricky Ponting didn’t stay away and was seen having ‘gulaal’ all over his face.

KKR celebrate Holi

Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ squad also took part in celebrating Holi as their social media handle shared a video where it can be seen that skipper Shreyas Iyer is at the receiving end as his teammates apply colors on him and pour down icy cool water over him. The fun celebration was joined in by team mentor Gautam Gambhir who clicked a few pictures with Iyer.

Their celebration took place in their home city Kolkata and they will soon be heading to Bengaluru for their second IPL 2024 match against RCB on March 29. They narrowly beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs to start their campaign on a bright note and will look to continue with the same momentum. The 13th edition of the IPL is in full swing with the first five games done and it is Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on Punjab Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. RCB lost their first game, the event opener against CSK and will eye for their first win to move up in the points table.
