Jasprit Bumrah to miss third Test against England?

New Delhi: As India completed their final training session on Wednesday at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium ahead of the third Test match against England, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah was remained absent. The pacer was nowhere to be seen as the other players participated in the net practice session fully ahead of the Rajkot Test.

For the third time in a row, the star pacer has skipped the training session amid talks that he might be rested for the encounter at Rajkot. The series is currently tied at 1-1, after England clinched the first match while India bounced back in the second to level the five-match affair. Few of the reports circulated the news that the pace bowler would be rested for the third match in order to manage his workload.

Absence of vice-captain a concern

India have a few selection concerns to deal with before the third Test match as Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja are all absent from the encounter. With Bumrah being absent from the net practice session, a concern is raised whether the star bowler will be participating in the match or not. There was a nine-day rest between the second and the third Test, perhaps sufficient time to a player to recover for a subsequent match, which led to few thinking if the Bumrah move would at all be considered, with fourth Test being a better option to rest the fast bowler as India will need him in Dharamsala for the series finale.

It would be a disastrous step if Indian management decide to rest Bumrah for the Rajkot match. The pace spearhead was the star of the show in Vizag match as he clinched nine wickets in both the innings to help India win the game comprehensively.
