New Delhi: Many people are still unaware of the importance of magnesium for the body. Deficiency is also known as hypomagnesemia which is a condition that is often overlooked. The signs of magnesium deficiency may vary from person to person. As per reports, a lack of magnesium can be both physical and mental. Magnesium is known to support health problems ranging from bone to muscle function.
According to a survey conducted in India, it has been revealed that 74 to 81 per cent of adult subjects’ dietary magnesium was noted as sub-optimal. Respectively, the prevalence of low serum magnesium was 12.3 per cent in males and 23.7 per cent in females.

Makes bones stronger after menopause: There are various studies which has shown that magnesium supplements have helped to increase bone mineral density in women after menopause. This has been published in the National Institutes of Health.
