New Delhi: An usual incident took place during the third ODI match between Australia and South Africa Women’s ODI which left many cricket fans in awe. Such a bizarre scene is not witnessed in the world of cricket frequently. At the North Sydney Oval in Sydney, Australian batter Alana King smashed a six on the leg side and ended up hitting her stumps in the follow-through.
Despite hitting her stumps, she was not declared out as the leg umpire signaled the delivery as a no ball for height. Masabata Klaas was bowling the 48th over in which this bizarre incident took place because of which she was left devastated. To add more salt to her wounds, Alana managed to smash a six off the next ball which was a free hit. Alana King managed to score 17 runs off 12 balls as Australia posted 277 runs on board in the first innings.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Australia managed to reach the score of 277 for 9 in the stipulated 50 overs. Beth Mooney emerged as the star of the show as she scored an unbeaten knock of 82 runs off 91 deliveries which included 10 boundaries. Apart form Mooney, skipper Alyssa Healy too looked in fine form, as she made 60 runs off 73 deliveries, hitting nine fours and a six. Tahlia McGrath too chipped in with a quickfire 44.
For South Africa women, Masabata Klaas was also the pick of the bowlers with four wickets. Marizanne Kapp, Eliz-mari Marx, Nadine de Klerk and Chloe Tryon also picked one wicket apiece for South Africa.
