Stocks to watch today: HAL, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Coal India, Infosys, AU Small Finance Bank

Mumbai: A day after Stock markets opened traded on bullish note on the first day of financial year 2-24-25, all eyes will be on BSE Sensex and Nifty on Tuesday. Some of the stocks which would in focus today are: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Coal India, Infosys, and AU Small Finance Bank.

HAL

In a big boost to ‘Make in India’ initiative, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has recorded its highest-ever revenue from operations exceeding Rs 29,810 crore in the financial year 2023-24. The Leading defence PSU registered a double-digit growth of around 11 per cent.

“HAL recorded the highest-ever revenue from operations of over Rs. 29,810 crores (provisional and unaudited) for the FY ended on March 31, 2024 as against Rs. 26,928 crores for the previous FY, registering a double digit growth of around 11% as against 9% in the previous FY.

Despite the major supply chain challenges arising due to geopolitical issues, HAL has met the expected revenue growth with improved performance for the FY. As on March 31, 2024, Company’s order book stands in excess of Rs. 94,000 crores with additional major orders expected,” HAL posted on X.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki India reported a 10 per cent spike in total sales at 1,87,196 units in March 2024 as compared to 1,70,071 units in the same month in 2023. The automobile major achieved a major feat as its annual total sales touched the milestone of 20 lakh units with highest-ever yearly domestic sales.

Infosys

Infosys has received a tax demand of Rs 341 crore for assessment year 2020-21 from the Income Tax Department. “Infosys Ltd on March 31, 2024, received order…from the Income Tax Department, Government of India for assessment year 20-21 with a tax demand of Rs 341 crore (including interest). The company is in the process of evaluating the implications of this order on the financial statements for the quarter and year ending March 31, 2024, and also evaluating filing an appeal against this order,” Infosys said in a BSE filing.

AU Small Finance Bank

AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB) on April 1, 2024 amalgamated Fincare Small Finance Bank (Fincare SFB. The merger had got approval from RBI on March 4, 2024, with the effective date of April 1, 2024.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors recorded a 2 per cent rise in its total domestic wholesales at 90,822 units in March 2024. In 2023-24, the automobile major reported its total wholesales in the domestic market of 9,49,015 units.

Coal India

Coal India’s production increased by 10 per cent to 773.6 million tonnes (MT) in 2023-24. However, the State-owned company was not able to meet its production target of 780 MT for the fiscal. CIL’s production and off-take are pegged at 838 MT for FY 2025, it said.
