Tamil actor Daniel Balaji passes away at 48 due to heart attack in Chennai

Chennai: Tamil actor Daniel Balaji (48) passed away on Friday night due to a cardiac arrest at his residence in Chennai, according to his family. The actor is known for his voice and performance as the antagonist in Tamil films like Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu and Polladhavan.

Balaji had a sudden chest pain last night. After that he was admitted to a private hospital in Kottivakam in the city, later he died without responding to the treatment, according to reports. The mortal remains of Daniel Balaji have been taken to his residence in Purasaivakam in Chennai and it is kept for public tribute since this morning.
Balaji acted in teleserials at the start of his career

Balaji is nephew of late Tamil actor Murali. He acted in television serials at the start of his career including Chithi and Alaigal. Balaji played the role of Daniel in the Chithi serial, due to the popularity of the role he played in the serial his name changed to Daniel Balaji.

Through his notable performance in the tele serial, he was given a chance in the film industry in April 2002. Following this, he acted in hit films like Kakka Kakka, Polladavan, Bhairava, and many other films. His unique bass voice has a huge fan base. He is known for his villainous roles in many Tamil films. Notably, Balaji worked as Unit Production Manager for Kamal Haasan’s Marudhanayakam.

Balaji acted in 48 films

He acted as a villain in Malayalam films for top actors including Mohanlal and Mammootty. The last film he acted in was Irujazhagan. At the age of 48, Daniel Balaji has acted in 42 films. Although he got many opportunities, he chose to play only important roles.

A few days ago, ‘Lollu Saba’ fame actor Seshu passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 60.
