Hyderabad: Former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s nephew K Kanna Rao was arrested by Adibatla police on Tuesday for land grabbing, Tv9 telugu reported.

Kanna Rao allegedly tried to seize two acres of land in Manneguda, which is a fast-growing, upmarket locality.

Last month, a 44-year-old man lodged a complaint with Adibatla police alleging that he was being intimidated by five people who were trying to usurp his land. A case was registered on the basis of the complaint at Adibhatla Police Station against Kanna Rao and 35 others for attacking several people in a land dispute.

Interestingly, the complainant Bandoju Srinivas is said to be the relative of CM Revanth Reddy.

Kanna Rao is the son of KCR’s older brother and KTR, Kavitha’s cousin. On Monday, Telangana High Court refused to grant anticipatory bail to him in the case.

This comes in the background of a slew of corruption charges being levelled at BRS leaders with phone-tapping case, Kavitha’s arrest in Delhi liquor scam. Several legislators including MLAs, MPs, corporators, have left the party in recent times to either join the Congress or the BJP just ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
