Hyderabad: Former Hyderabad Taskforce DCP Radha Kishan Rao, has been remanded to police custody for seven days by Nampally court on Wednesday, Tv9 telugu reported.

He will be in custody of Panjagutta police from April 4 to April 10. Radha Kishan Rao, who was named as accused number 4 in the tapping case, revealed during investigations that on the orders of ex-SIB chief T Prabhakar Rao, they formed a special ‘caste caucus’ to ensure BRS victory in 2018 elections.

It was also revealed that cash was seized from opponents of BRS candidates in various by-elections namely Dubbaka by-election in 2020, Munugode by-election in 2022 and Telangana Assembly elections in 2023.

As per media reports, Radha Kishan Rao and T Prabhakar Rao may turn approvers in the case.

Ex-SIB DSP Praneeth Rao, Additional SPs N Bhujanga Rao and M Tirupatanna, who are accused in the case, purportedly told investigators that they took orders from Prabhakar Rao and Kishan Rao.

After it became clear that the BRS was losing the election and Congress would form the government on December 3, these officers reportedly destroyed evidence, including computer hard drives. On December 4, Prabhakar Rao and Kishan Rao resigned from their posts.
