Jaipur:In a shocking incident from Jaipur, a youth was beaten to death with a cricket bat by the son of an inspector in Rajasthan Police due to a dispute between the two after the deceased put up his stall near the accused’s house. The horrific incident unfolded in front of the cop’s eyes as his son continued raining blows on a man with a bat.

Chilling footage of the incident shows the accused, identified as Kshitij, repeatedly hitting Mohan with a bat while the former’s father stands as a mere spectator during the assault on Tuesday night in Rajni Vihar colony in Jaipur. Another video from the spot showed Kshitij and his father putting the victim’s body in a car after the attack.

Kshitij is the son of Prashant Verma, an inspector deployed at the CMO in the security of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. CCTV footage of the alleged killing went viral on social following which a police team led by DCP (west) Amit Kumar arrested Kshitij on Wednesday and his interrogation is underway while Mohan’s body has been sent for post-mortem.

Old feud with street vendor led to killing

According to the police, Inspector Prashant Sharma’s son Kshitij beat Mohan to death with a bat over an old enmity. Many people in the area including Kshitij had opposed a stall set up by Mohan near the Rajni Vihar Park. Kshitij wanted the stall to be removed from there and had even asked him to move in the past and often harassed him.

Things took a drastic turn on Tuesday when the accused spotted the victim outside his residence and came out with bat and attacked the street vendor, all while his policeman father was standing in front of him. Police said Mohan died on the spot as a result of the brutal assault.
