New Delhi: Virat Kohli starred with the bat as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 4 wickets at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to bag their first win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Kohli played a brilliant knock of 77 runs off 49 balls laced with 11 fours and 2 sixes to take his team over the line in a tricky run chase that went down to the last over.

After propelling his side to their first win of the season, Kohli was spotted talking to his wife Anushka Sharma on a video call from the ground. Kohli was seen making some cute gestures on the video call to all but confirm that his kids were also on the call. He has a 3-year-old daughter Vamika and recently became a father for the second time after his son Akaay was born in London.

Kohli also blew kisses to his loved ones before ending the call and heading back to the dressing room at the Chinnaswmay Stadium. Kohli’s heartwarming video call with his family left fans in awe as they couldn’t stop gushing over the RCB star. The video soon went viral on social media with reactions pouring in from all corners.

Kohli, Karthik steer RCB home

Kohli’s gestures on the video call with his family melted hearts on social media. The RCB star enjoyed a field day overall in the clash against PBKS as he looked in sublime touch with the willow after being dropped once during his innings. In pursuit of a target of 177 runs, RCB didn’t get off to an ideal start as they lost skipper Faf du Plessis and Cameron Green in quick succession.

However, Kohli single-handedly steered the ship for RCB after the duo’s departure and kept the hosts in the hunt with his brilliant fifty. He added 43 runs for the third wicket with Rajat Patidar (18) before being dismissed on 77 off 49 deliveries by Hrshal Patel in the 16th over.

Dinesh Karthik turned out to be the hero for RCB once again towards the fag end of the innings as he produced a sensational cameo of 10-ball 28 and combined with Mahipal Lomror, who smacked 17 off just 8 balls to take his team home. With the win, RCB registered their first points on the table.
