Magh Gupt Navratri 2024: Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga. Hindus worship different forms of Goddess Durga during Navratri. Every year, there are two Gupt Navratris. One falls in the month of Magh and the other in the month of Ashadha.
Gupt Navratri for this year began today, February 10, 2024, on the Pratipada Tithi of the Shukla Paksha. Goddess Durga is worshipped secretly during Gupt Navratri. There are a few things that should be kept in mind during this time, otherwise Goddess Devi may become angry. Here are some activities to avoid during Gupt Navratri.
What not to do during Gupt Navratri
During Gupt Navratri, hair should not be cut and nails should not be trimmed.
Furthermore, garlic and onions should not be consumed. The place where Rahu-Ketu’s blood fell is believed to be the origin of garlic and onion. As a result, it is considered impure.
Do not sleep during the day if you are observing Gupt Navratri. Those who do so do not reap the benefits of fasting, according to belief.
Furthermore, do not trouble women, elders, or animals during Gupt Navratri. Do not harm anyone physically or mentally. Goddess Durga is said to be angered by such actions.
During Gupt Navratri, husband and wife should observe the rules of celibacy.
People should stay away from leather items during these nine days.
It is advisable to avoid wearing purple, blue, or dark-coloured clothes during Gupt Navratri.
Those observing the fast should not sleep on a bed or cot for nine days. Instead, they should sleep on a Kush grass mat.
