Among them is AP Dhillon, the Indo-Canadian vocalist known for his stellar hip-hop and R&B music. The 31-year-old star recently delivered a power-packed performance at Coachella 2024.
Dhillon on Monday took to Instagram to share an interesting clip from the celebrated music festival. In the short video, he can be seen breaking his guitar after finishing his act. Apparently, the gesture didn’t sit well with netizens who slammed him for the ‘disrespectful action’.
“Pop artists break guitars to look cool. They try to imitate rock/metal artists without realising that they break their guitars out of the adrenaline rush and intensity of playing the instrument. It always hurts to see the poor instrument face the wrath of these wannabes. In India, we pray to the instrument. Saraswati Maa resides within it. This is pathetic. Do better, AP.,” commented a social media user. Another wrote, “This proves money can’t buy wisdom.”

Who is AP Dhillon?
Born as Amritpal Singh Dhillon into a Sikh family in Punjab, he pursued a Diploma in Business Administration and Management from Camosun College in Canada. You will be amazed to know that many of his singles have topped the Billboard’s chart. With his hit song Summer High, AP Dhillon became the first Punjabi language artist to perform at the 2023 Juno Awards in Edmonton in 2023.
