Mukhtar Ansari Death News: Jailed gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari dies of heart attack

Banda: Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, aged 63, died of heart attack on Thursday night. According to sources, Mukhtar Ansari, who was lodged in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda jail, was shifted to a medical college after his health deteriorated. After his condition became critical, he was first admitted to the ICU and then to the CCU. However, he died during treatment.

Meanwhile, security measures have been heightened in Mau and Ghazipur. Section 144 has been imposed in entire Uttar Pradesh.

What medical bulletin stated

A medical bulletin released regarding Ansari’s demise stated that he was admitted to Rani Durgavati Medical College in Banda at 8.25 pm. Doctors mentioned that he was brought in while unconscious and complaining of vomiting. “Despite their best efforts, his life couldn’t be saved,” stated the bulletin.

Following this development, Mukhtar’s family left from Ghazipur for Banda. Considering the gravity of the situation, security at Banda jail has been reinforced. Ansari’s lawyer, Randhir Singh, had earlier claimed that access to Ansari was restricted, stating, “No one was being allowed to meet Mukhtar Ansari.”

Samajwadi Party expresses grief

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party took to X to inform about Mukhtar Ansari’s demise. “Sad demise of former MLA Shri Mukhtar Ansari. May his soul rest in peace. May the bereaved family members get the strength to bear this immense sorrow. Humble tribute!” stated the party in a tweet on X.

Meeting at Yogi Adityanath’s residence

After the death of Mukhtar Ansari, an important meeting was held at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence. The DGP and ADP of Law and Order were also present in the meeting. CM Yogi has put all the districts on alert. In the meeting at the CM’s residence, he has stated that no untoward incident will occur.

Mukhtar Ansari was sentenced to life imprisonment

On March 26, Ansari was admitted to Rani Durgavati Medical College due to issues with his digestive system. He received intensive care for 14 hours in the ICU. Ansari had recently filed a court application alleging that he was being subjected to slow poisoning.

In the letter, he had mentioned that after eating the food, he experienced severe pain in the nerves of his hands and legs. His hands and feet started becoming cold, he alleged.

Mukhtar Ansari was lodged in the Banda jail as he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the 36-year-old Ghazipur fake arms license case.
