New Delhi: Young batter Riyan Parag who features for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has finally come of age as he struck a blistering 45-ball 84* in the 2024 season clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday. Parag has been making headlines ever since and he looked in sublime form even in RR’s tournament opener against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) where he scored 43 off 29 hitting a four and three sixes.

His innings against LSG and DC raised several eyebrows as he was at the receiving end during the previous season, enduring a flop show. He faced criticism all over the internet and dealt with all the trolls and memes over him with his chin up. As he spoke in the post-match presentation on Thursday, it was tough for him to reach where he is today and shed some light on how hard he trained last year to strike the right chords in the ongoing IPL season.

The 22-year-old hasn’t just seen a growth in his batting performance but his earnings from the cash-rich league has gone up as well. He was bought at a base price of Rs. 20 lacs ahead of the 2019 season by the Royals and was a part of them for the same amount until 2021. He was released by the franchise ahead of the 2022 season but was re-bought by the team for a whopping price of Rs. 3.80 crore.

He continues to earn the same as a part of the contract with RR. His net worth is reportedly Rs 4.75 crore and he owns a Honda City as well. Parag also promotes brands like Red Bull and Rooter which makes it another source of income for him.
