New Delhi: The love for cricket knows no bounds in India. The sport is treated like a religion in the country and the players like demigods. Millions of avid fans follow the game religiously and never miss a chance to watch their favourite stars in action. Fans are the lifeblood of the game and there are a few special ones, who enjoy an incredible emotional connection with the spot.

103-year-old S Ramdas from Chennai is one such special superfan. Ramdas is a huge fan of cricket and an avid Chennai Super Kings (CSK) supporter. In a heartwarming video shared by CSK, Ramdas’ son narrated his father’s love for the sport and how he never misses a match when the Men in Yellow are playing. Ramdas, who served in the British Army, refuses to call himself old and doesn’t hesitate to showcase his passion for the game.

Ramdas served in the Army with the British Military and revealed he was scared of playing cricket during his days of youth. However, he loves to wear a CSK jersey and watch the franchise matches on television now.

“While I was studying school, I was little scared so I will not bat, I used to bowl. I love cricket, but I am afraid of playing cricket. I watch it on TV,” said the 103-year-old superfan in the video.

When asked by his son if he would travel to Delhi to watch a CSK game in the national capital, Ramdas came up with a cheeky response and joked he could walk to Delhi. “I will walk all the way to Delhi,” he told his son.

Like millions of CSK fans around the world, Ramdas is a huge admirer of the legendary MS Dhoni and revealed his wish to meet the former captain at the Chepauk. Despite being 103, Ramdas easily recognised Dhoni’s picture on his son’s phone and told him he would love to meet him in Chepauk whenever the former CSK captain has time and calls. He also still considers Dhoni as the captain of the team.

“Yes, whenever he has time and whenever he calls. Oh yes,” replied Ramdas when asked by his son about meeting Dhoni at Chepauk.

“He has been regularly following the IPL since it started. We used to think he cannot sit and watch an entire game but he sits enthusiastically and follows every game. He is a total cricket lover,” revealed Ramdas’ son.

Ramdas is also a fan of the T20 format where the games are short as per his liking and he is not required to sit too long as he needs adequate rest at 103. CSK’s video about the superfan has become a hit on social media and is being loved by many. It remains to be seen if Ramdas’ wish to watch a CSK game at Chepauk and meet Dhoni will come true later this season.
