Posted by Noida: After making the announcement to set up five industrial parks in YEIDA Sector 10, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority will now focus on setting up social welfare projects in the region The development authority will allocate land for orphanages, ashrams and shelters for widows and old-age homes. The authority approved a revised policy at its last board meeting on March 12 for this.
The decision was taken for a holistic urban development in sectors along the Yamuna Expressway. The region is witnessing an economic boom, and a significant surge in population is anticipated once the Noida International Airport in Jewar becomes operational later this year.
YEIDA officials said that there is an urgent need for space to set up shelters for widows that can support welfare facilities at Mathura and Vrindavan. As per sources, space is needed for 5,000 women for the initiative. Children’s shelters and orphanages are said to be one of the most important components of long-term urban planning in the region.
After the revision of policy parameters for social welfare projects, organisations with net worth that is at least 30% of the project cost and liquidity that is at least 20% will get a preference. Organisations that will be capable of self-financing 60% or more of the project will be favoured.
Schemes for these social welfare projects will be launched after the Lok Sabha elections. The institutional plots earmarked for hospitals, nursing homes and corporate offices will be allotted via e-auction. Meanwhile, the YEIDA will allocate all other plot categories through a selection process that includes analysis of objective parameters and interviews.
Recently, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced that it will develop five industrial parks near the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar. The authority will acquire around 600-acres of land for the development on the five industrail parks which also includes an EV Park, said officials aware of the matter. The development authority has planned to develop these parks in YEIDA Sector 10 along the Yamuna Expressway.
