You will be amazed to know that it took almost 16 years for the film to hit the silver screen. Money and the COVID-19 pandemic are said to be the major reasons for the continuous delays in the movie’s release.

The flick is named among the most expensive Malayalam films ever produced. The Goat Life was made on a whopping budget of Rs 80 crore. It has been shot in the deserts of Wadi Rum, Jordan and the Algerian desert in the Sahara. Some parts of the movie were also filmed in Kerala, India.

With Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead, the flick also features Amala Paul, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Shobha Mohan, KR Gokul, Talib Al Balushi, Rik Aby and Nazer Karutheni in pivotal roles. Initially, Suriya was reportedly considered to lead the project but he later opted out of it due to busy schedules and prior commitments.

The Goat Life opened to mostly positive reviews on social media. “Aadujeevitham is a gem of Indian cinema. AR Rahman’s background music is outstanding. Prithviraj Sukumaran’s performance is a must-watch in theaters. Highly recommended,” an X (formerly known as Twitter) posted. Another wrote, “Prithviraj Sukumaran completely dedicated his body and soul to this movie. His acting is the best of his lifetime. The screenplay is a masterclass art from Mollywood. The technical brilliance in the sandstorm scene is remarkable. The theater response was explosive during the climax scenes.”
