Work gets done only when in ruling party: ex-GHMC mayor

Speaking to the media, Vijayalakshmi has said that work only gets done when in the ruling party. She is expected to join the Congress on Saturday, March 30.

Meanwhile, her father, Keshava Rao, who met KCR on Thursday to inform about his resignation, resigned from the party. He said that the Congress party was his home and that he would die while being a part of the Congress. “I have worked in Congress party for 53 years. I have worked in BRS party only for ten years. I joined BRS party only for Telangana. Congress party gave Telangana. I was born and brought up in the Congress party and I want to die in that party.”

He further said that he has not yet resigned from BRS party. “I am not joining the Congress party on the day my daughter joins. Will tell you on which day I will join Congress after the date is finalised. My son wants to stay in BRS party. Indrakaran Reddy and Gaddam Aravind Reddy are joining Congress Party.”

Kadiyam Kavya gives up LS ticket:

Kadiyam Kavya, daughter of BRS MLA from Station Ghanpur, who was given a Lok Sabha ticket by the BRS from Warangal constituency, has stepped away from the election fray.

In a letter to Ex-CM KCR, she said that recent scams have portrayed BRS in a poor light. “Reports of wrong doing by senior leadership of the party in phone tapping, land grabbing and Delhi liquor scam cases have done damage to the reputation of the party. In these circumstances, I decided not to contest in the Lok Sabha elections.”

However, the father-daughter duo are in Delhi to join the Congress party and Kadiyam Srihari is expected to run on a Congress ticket from Warangal Lok Sabha constituency.
