India Bloc’s joint manifesto to be announced soon; caste-base census, OPS among seven big promises

New Delhi: The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is all set to announce its joint manifesto very soon with seven major promises. As per the party sources, implementation of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and caste-based census across the country are said to be the highlights of the manifesto.

If reports are to be believed, the INDIA Bloc is likely to announce this joint manifesto in their next meeting at Ranchi on April 21.

TMC not in support of caste-based census in INDIA Bloc’s joint manifesto

All major partners, except Trinamool Congress (TMC), are in favour of the manifesto. TMC has reportedly expressed its discomfort over the caste-based census point. As per the reports, if TMC fails to come aboard, the opposition alliance is likely to delay the announcement to few more days, then making it public after the Ranchi meet.

Highlights of INDIA Bloc’s joint manifesto

INDIA Bloc’s seven-point joint manifesto will focus mainly on youth, women, farmers and poor.
Recruitment for about 30 lakh vacant posts in several government departments
Caste-based census and raising the higher age limit for reservations
Door-step delivery of ration to all the BPL families in the country
Six free cylinders every year to poor families in the country
Free 200 units of electricity
Girl students to get a one-time assistance of Rs 50,000 for higher studies
State-wise implementation of Old Pension Scheme (OPS)
The joint manifesto also promises education loan waiver to all students. All members of the alliance feel that it can prove to be a gamechanger for students in the country.

Copies of the manifesto have been shared with all the alliance partners and except TMC, all of them have given their go-ahead for it.

TMC MP Derek O’Brien is likely to be present in the INDIA Bloc’s meeting in Ranchi.

Congress will implement five Nyay included in ‘Sankalp Patra’ in Delhi: Arvinder Lovely

The Congress will be contesting the Northeast Delhi, Chandni Chowk and Northwest Delhi Lok Sabha seats while the rest four seats in Delhi will be contested by the AAP as part of the INDIA bloc.

Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely exhorted the Congress leaders and workers to ensure the victory of the three party candidates along with all the seven seats of Delhi with the assurance that they will fulfil its five Nyay and 25 guarantees.

He said that the Congress would implement the five Nyay included in its ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto) for the uplift of youth, women, farmers, labour and hissedari, which party leader Rahul Gandhi had promised during his ‘Bharat Jodo and ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’.

A senior Congress leader had on Thursday said the party is forming a committee to ensure coordination with its alliance partner for the Lok Sabha elections.
