Posted by New Delhi: Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni played a whirlwind knock of 20* runs in what was a blistering cameo during the El Clasico of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, April 14. MSD, who passed the captaincy cloak to young batter Ruturaj Gaikwad and also demoted himself down the batting order, grabbed the opportunity to display his explosive batting which made it a special night for the CSK fans. He played a mere four balls and hit three back-to-back sixes to take Hardik Pandya to the cleaner.
The night was already special for the CSK fans across India and the legendary decided to make it more special for a little girl in the stands while running back upward to the pavillion. Dhoni passed the match ball to the young fan after spotting the girl on his father’s shoulder just near the stairs’ fence. The CSK stalwart won hearts all over the internet as the moment went viral in no time and the fans lauded their ‘Thala’ for the sweet gesture.
Meher – the girl who received the ball
However, in a recent video posted by host broadcaster Star Sports, the same CSK fan whose name is Meher, revealed her plans with the ball received from Dhoni. She also revealed that she plays cricket and aspires to represent India.
“I am the lucky girl who received the ball from Dhoni uncle. I play cricket, and this is my dream to pass this ball to another fan when I will play for India,” Meher said.

Her father was also seen in the video who was still in disbelief saying, “We still can’t believe that we have this ball. Mahi stopped, looked towards us, and passed it to Meher who was on my shoulder at that time.”
