MS Dhoni receives grand reception on arrival in Lucknow – WATCH

New Delhi: The Mahendra Singh Dhoni effect has reached Lucknow where Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be hosted by home side Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Friday. Ahead of the clash, the excitement level of MSD’s fans in Lucknow is already at the top who are all in readiness to watch the former India skipper take the field at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

IPL shared a video clip ahead of the clash where Dhoni’s fans in Lucknow can be seen eagerly waiting for his arrival and going bonkers once he comes out of the airport. A group of fans were asked why they waited for so long to which they were speechless, saying we don’t have any words, we are just here to catch a glimpse of Mahi bhai and will head to the stadium to cheer for him now.

The video then jumps to another scene where a man driving a car says, “Lucknow welcomes you Mahi bhai with its arms wide open. We are known for our hospitality, we welcome you and defeat us with love and respect (chuckles).” He went on to add that Dhoni is the backbone of India and that it is an obligation to love him. “To sum it up, everyone loves Dhoni.”

Dhoni’s craze within groundsmen

One of the groundsmen at the Ekana Cricket Stadium shared his excitement over MSD playing in Lucknow. He started with “Just like a fish struggles without water, fans struggle without MS Dhoni,” adding that back home whenever CSK wins, they celebrate the win altogether. Another said that it doesn’t matter if he does not play too many balls but his arrival at the crease is enough for them as all they want is just the sight of the legendary.

Sanjeev Agrawal, the chief curator at Ekana stressed that MSD is a great person and that there’s a feeling that people love talking to him. His attractive power is tremendous as no matter where he is on the ground, people go crazy over him. A guy who has spent so much time on the ground, it is better that he stays there.

Earlier, Lucknow put up cheeky hoardings welcoming Dhoni in the city where they insisted that they will be hoping he comes good in the match but doesn’t win it for his side.
