Posted by Following Apple’s recent change in App Store policy, Delta – Game Emulator has officially made its way to the iPhone. This 68.8 MB app allows players to run retro games from iconic consoles like Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, Game Boy (Colour), and Game Boy Advance on their iOS devices.
This means iPhone users can easily play games like Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 64, Contra, Pokemon Unbound, Alien Hominid, Castlevania, Golden Sun, Dragon Warrior Monsters 2, F-Zero X/ GX, Mario Kart DS, Cruis’n USA, without any trouble. Notably, your iPhone needs to be running at iOS 14 or later versions to support downloading Delta from the App Store.
How to play retro games on iPhone with Delta Emulator
Just recently, the emulator could only be downloaded via Delta’s own app store AltStore. However, you can now download the Delta – Game Emulator app directly from the App Store. Once you have downloaded the game you need to import ROMs of the titles you want to play.
ROMs are special files containing a game’s data, and they come in different formats for different console systems. You can download a game’s ROM file via the internet through tools like GB Operator and others. Once you have downloaded a ROM, you can add it to your Delta library by tapping the “+” button in the top right corner of the home screen.
Controls and controllers
You can open the settings in Delta to select controller skins for the supported consoles. You can also change which controller you would like to play with and customise the button mappings for each system.
The emulator also supports external controllers. You can pair one to your iPhone and then go to Delta Settings and select the controller. You can add controllers made for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo systems. The emulator also lets you map buttons on these controllers.
